Our Beach Escape
We had such a lovely time at The Beach Club Resort. We were well taken care of from the moment we arrived until the moment we left to return to Vancouver. The front desk team was professional and friendly and they also recommended places to visit while we were in Parksville. I liked the fact that when you requested some more dishwashing detergent and Tide that the front desk staff would bring it up themselves. Now that’s hospitality!
When we stepped into our room and saw the stunning view, we were extremely excited. Our son, 3, loved standing on the windowsill and peering out at the seagulls and beach. We were very happy with the room and its convenient amenities. Having a fully stocked kitchen was perfect for us so that we could save some money on food and cook our own meals. The General Manager, Arthur Wong, provided us with a complimentary bottle of Stone Road red wine, which was a delightful surprise. We had a one-bedroom suite with a king size bed, a private balcony, gigantic bathroom with a shower and a deep tub.
There was another bathroom near the main entrance, mirrored closets, a full kitchen, and a microwave. I especially liked the beach theme and the paintings on the walls. The gas fireplace definitely came in handy when it was very cold outside and after we took long walks on the beach. We didn’t sit out on the balcony that much as it was still the beginning of March and chilly, but the sun would shine into the living room, offering natural light and an extra source of heat.
We went to the pool once, which has a wonderful view of the beach, mountains, and ocean. I enjoyed some relaxing hot tub time while my husband and son splashed around in the pool. There are towels provided in the change rooms, which saves you from having to bring your hotel room towels down. We didn’t get to try the Pacific Prime Restaurant on the property, but we did hear many good things about it, its Executive Chef Rick Davidson, and its West Coast style cuisine. We popped into the on-site Stonewater Spa to see what type of treatments they provide. The spa provides a variety of treatments, from facials and couples massages to body wraps and manicures.
Location, Location, Location
This hotel and resort has a dreamy location and is close to everything, including golf courses and plenty of attractions. The Beach Club Resort is close to everything you need, including a colourful playground and spray waterpark at the Parksville Community Park.
There are many affordable restaurants in the area that are best suited for families with young kids. Some to mention are Smitty’s, The Farmhouse Cafe and Smoke N’ Water where you can listen to live music and dance the night away. In the local neighbourhood, you have your usual places like Mcdonald’s, Starbucks, dollar stores, and Subway within a five-minute drive from the resort.
There are many trails and parks in the area and always something to do and see. Next time we visit, we will check out the Horne Lake Caves, voted, “Best Natural Outdoor Site in BC” by Canada Attractions. We did get to Qualicum Beach, which was breathtaking. We did a lot of digging with our son there and found some colourful rocks.
We also stopped by the Old Country Market in Coombs, which was interesting! During the warmer months, you can see goats prance around on the roof of the market! We spent most of our days on Parksville Bay Beach chasing seagulls, picking up shells and looking for crabs. Having a stunning beachfront location like this one provides guests with a truly relaxing escape from busy city life!
In a Nutshell
We are extremely happy with our stay at The Beach Club Resort and we will definitely return during the warmer summer months. I recommend this hotel for families that really need a break away at the beach. The suite was perfect for our little family and offered all the comforts of a ‘home away from home.’ It was exactly what we needed!
