Our Family Experience
We were warmly greeted by the staff at the Lonsdale Quay Hotel. The front desk staff was very professional and thorough with their explanation regarding our stay. We were placed in an executive suite that had excellent views of the shipyards and downtown Vancouver. We had requested a playpen for our toddler, which worked out nicely. My husband and I loved the room and it’s rich dark browns and golden bed linens.
We found the bed comfortable and firm enough and the bathroom was clean and spacious with a tub, shower and complimentary PURE brand toiletries. We felt as though the housekeeping department did a nice job of cleaning our room after our first day here. There is also free Wi-Fi internet access available if you need to stay in touch with friends and family.
We did arrive later on a Friday night so we didn’t do much except visit the market below and have dinner at the Cheshire Cheese Restaurant located in the Lonsdale Quay Market. (If you love nachos, you must try the ones there!) After dinner we let our son play in the free ball pit. It was convenient that it was located one floor down from the hotel and it was great entertainment for him!
On Saturday and Sunday morning’s we enjoyed a warm breakfast in the hotel’s Mix Lounge, which offered a nice little menu of omelettes, LARGE pancakes, eggs, sausages, bacon, toast and various cereals. The food was very good and provided us with the nourishment and energy we needed for our day at the Peak of Christmas on Grouse Mountain. All in all, it was a comfortable stay on the North Shore!
In a Nutshell
I would recommend this hotel to small families and anyone who is travelling to the area for business or to see the attractions. Check in and check out was a breeze, the staff was very kind and willing to help, and the location of it being in the Lonsdale Quay Market makes it a convenient stay for everyone.
