Canada Day is a statutory holiday observed every year on July 1. Canadians get together to celebrate their country and there are loads of festivities going on in every province. From fireworks to club crawls, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The city of Vancouver is loaded with events and activities on this special day, and the following are some of the most-recommended.

Robson Street

Every year Canadians get to enjoy live music and street performances along the famous shopping street. People gather together on Robson Street in the West End to mingle and celebrate this special day.

Canada Day Club Crawls

Every year there are club crawls. Usually they begin on Granville Street and then party people trek around and bar hop through the city to four or five top nightspots. A party bus picks everybody up and takes them around the city.

Crab Portside Park

Located at the Crab Portside Park, this annual outdoor event always has performers and live bands to celebrate Canada Day. It is primarily held to raise money for the homeless people that live on the Eastside of Vancouver.

Canada Place

This is one of the most popular events held on Canada Day. Located at the landmark harbourside attraction of Canada Place, Canada Day at Canada Place is an annual celebration that involves an airshow performed by the Canadian Forces Acrobatic Team, fireworks and maple taffy.

Canada Day Burrard Inlet Fireworks

Crowds can see fireworks from all over the city when the Burrard Fireworks Society brightens up the night sky on this celebratory day. Tons of people watch these fireworks every year and you can see the fireworks from almost every part of Vancouver.

Waterfront Park

Head over to the Waterfront Park in the 200 block of West Esplanade and catch musical performances, activities, festivities and more.

Granville Island

Located at the Fort Langley National Historic Site at 23433 Mavis Street, this event is famous for contests, barrel races, Canada Day cakes, theatre and gold panning.

Cloverdale Millennium Amphitheatre

Bands perform at the Cloverdale Millennium Amphitheatre while kids can play on the rides and fireworks create a colourful display of light.
