South Granville

This popular neighborhood starts right after the Granville Bridge as you head out of downtown Vancouver and up to 16th street. With its art galleries, many cafes and gourmet food shops, this neighbourhood is much-loved by the artistic community in Vancouver. Visitors can enjoy furniture and boutique shops, as well as world-class dining, theatres, antiques, jewelry stores and so much more. It is home to many art galleries and you will always find artists, writers and photographers circling around this popular area. If you are looking for new furniture make sure you check out the Pottery Barn, as well as many other stores along the stretch. You will also find excellent gourmet food stores such as Meinhardt’s.

This area is also popular because of its book stores and luxury shops. Chapters Bookstore is one of the best ones to visit because you can sit back, relax, enjoy a Starbuck’s coffee and read your favorite book or browse the shelves all day long. There are also many other discount book shops around and usually a vendor hot dog stand right around the corner if you get the munchies. Since the year of 1907, South Granville has continued to develop into one of the best shopping areas in the city. Make sure you visit all the art galleries, which can be found on what is now known as ‘Gallery Row’.
