DSC03468A total body workout in just 25 minutes? Burn 600 calories in 30 minutes? Sign me up!

If you are looking for a better return on your fitness investment, PowerVibe Fitness may have exactly what you need. This brand new studio uses cutting edge power plate and infrared technology in a method known as acceleration training, which leads to significant health benefits.

Acceleration training is a 25-minute, full body, non-impact workout which is the equivalent to one hour in a traditional gym. Using power plate equipment, (meaning the plate vibrates, forcing the muscles to contract 25–50 times per second) muscles contract more frequently, resulting in a quicker onset of fatigue, allowing for a shorter workout. Power plates are employed by professional athletes, celebrities and rehabilitation centres, and are in common use across Europe.

DSC03442With a variety of acceleration training classes focusing on different styles and intensity levels, you can be sure to find one that is perfect for you. Classes are frequent (15–20 per day!) and small, creating the ideal environment for personalized attention. Classes are executed in the same manner as traditional circuit training. Weights, resistance bands, Swiss balls and other standard gym equipment are incorporated into a full body workout on the acceleration machine.

Staff are selected based on their professional training and their personality, since it is the belief at PowerVibe that clients respond best to trainers who exhibit knowledge combined with a positive attitude.

Benefits of Acceleration Training Include:

  • increased muscle strength
  • increased core conditioning
  • improved flexibility
  • improved balance
  • increased bone density
  • improved blood circulation
  • enhanced metabolism
  • reduced stress levels

PowerVibe also offers infrared sauna, which utilizes far infrared heat to raise the body’s core temperature along with the temperature of the sauna. As a result, the heat penetrates the tissue more deeply than a traditional sauna, increasing perspiration and heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate. People can expect to lose 600 calories in 30 minutes.

Benefits of Infrared Sauna Include:

  • Reduced toxins in the body
  • Improved immune system
  • Improved healing
  • Increased metabolism
  • Increased weight loss
  • Reduced joint stiffness
  • Reduced blood pressure
  • Reduced stress

Another Service PowerVibe Offers is UV-free Tanning!

VersaSpa equipment utilizes an open-air concept and easy-to-breathe purification system with options to tan the entire body, just your face or just your legs. It will leave you dry, and the best part is, VersaSpa guarantees you will not be left with that dreaded orange-coloured skin! You will have a beautiful bronze glow that looks as good as it feels.

  1. Power Plates are becoming more popular with many celebrities using these. Get yourself down to your local fitness centre and try one out, you’ll notice great results. Many recent studies prove this to have a greater benefit to normal aerobic exercise.

  2. I’m happy to see another type of work out becoming so popular! We at Fitness on the Go offer In-home personal training which is another alternative to the standard gym routines. The ultimate goal is to become fit, healthy and happy no matter how you get it done!

  3. I think the PowerPlate is great but Powervibe Fitness not so much!! They have “Trainers” that are uncertified and possess no PowerPlate training! The concept is great everything else is the pits.

  4. I am not sure what Mandy is referring too, my experience with the trainers has only been exceptional, they all are fantastic. I have trained in Europe (paying double by the way) on the Power Plate and did not get the attention and results that I have received from the trainers at Powervibe fitness. I have lost so much weight and more importantly inches!!!!!! (in less then 2 months !!) I can’t say enough about the beautiful surroundings and the friendly and professional staff they are all Certified Fitness Trainers (I would not train there otherwise), after all that’s what I am paying for! it’s been the best investment I have made in years, don’t think twice!!!! check it out the first session is free, you have nothing too loose but calories!!!!! by the way I asked the trainer where they got their training,I was advised the owners are certified to train their staff to become Power Plate trainers and that Powervibe Fitness is considered a Power Plate Certified Training center. All the trainers go through a ridged training program before they can train anyone in the facility, I am satisfied with that response and more importantly with my results!!!!

  5. Does anyone know if this is a good program for people extremely overweight? I weigh 260 and hate going to these excercise places only to be embarassed because it can only be done by smaller people.

    Thanks so much!

  6. I’m starting to realize PowerVibe is Vancouver’s best kept secret. After only one month, I can’t believe the results I’m getting – well worth the investment. Every one of the trainers are awesome, well qualified, and provide a lot of variety, so it never gets boring. They can adjust the workout to your fitness level, so this is ideal for people of all ages and sizes. There’s a capacity for seven people per session, but more often there’s only one or two, so it’s like getting a personal trainer every day. I was skeptical about the concept of vibration exercises at first, but results speak for themself. Now I can’t say enough about this place, and rave about it to anyone who will listen!

  7. Does anyone else have a review about this place? The prices are steep but if it’s really effective then it’s worth the price. I’m quite overweight, packing on the pounds from lack of exercise due to injuries. I’m looking for something really gentle on my joints, but that will increase my muscle mass and help me lose weight.
Anyone who is overweight to obese had any success with this gym?

  8. Anonymous, I just called PowerVibe and they actually have a deal on that for $55 you get two weeks of unlimited workouts on the power plates and unlimited use of their infrared saunas. This might be a great way for you to try it out and see if its manageable for you.
